nothing tastes better than slim |
i love food. but i love fitting into my skinny jeans even more. this blog is about trying to keep things straight in my head, which isn't easy. |
funny, i grew up a competitive dancer — no weights though :)
When did you stop? I was dancing 4 times a week until my final year of high school in which I decided to focus on my studies. Worst decision of my life - I miss it so much. The funny thing is though, I think once you’re a dancer you’re always a dancer. I always run to the Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson because I can time my runs on the beat as well as alternating breaths. Its how I get through the pain.
I stopped during my second to last year because I wanted to go on a trip that conflicted with competition. And at that point there was no non-competitive at my studio for me.
I used to miss it for the first few years - I would go to competitions and recitals and workshops. I don’t really anymore. It was definitely hugely character building and formative for me (nothing like getting yelled at ALL the time to boost your self confidence!).
I was also way larger then than I am now even though back then I danced 20 hours/week! I probably weighed 20 pouds more.
My sister on the other hand is still dancing - mostly as a choreographer and stuff for productions here. So good on her!
